Nicaraguan all-time great Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (46-2, 38 KOs) returns to action on September 15th in Las Vegas. The 4-time world champion meets ex-WBO Minimumweight title holder Moises “Moy” Fuentes (25-5-1, 14 KOs) of Mexico City. A fight featured as part of an undercard for the monster middleweight rematch between unified king Gennady “GGG” Golovkin and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez FightZoneNews.com has learned. Gonzalez had been away from the spotlight just over 12 months. Last suffering a vicious 4th round knockout at the hands of current WBC Super Flyweight champ Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (46-4-1, 41 KOs) in 2017. Rungvisai then followed that up with a close points win over Juan Francisco Estrada to also claim the RING Super Flyweight championship. Fuentes previously was finished early by Daigo Higa in February. He will be making his first ring appearance in the United States.
The contest joins two high profile matches recently revealed. They include WBO junior middleweight titlist Jaime Munguia (30-0, 25 KOs) vs. challenger Brandon Cook (20-1, 13 KOs).
