Wilder and Warrington both expected in Belfast
U.K. promoter Frank Warren has confirmed 2 special guests will be in attendance at Windsor Park on Saturday, August 18th. WBC heavyweight belt holder Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) is anticipated to be ringside with BT Sport covering ex-champion Tyson Fury (26-0, 19 KOs) in action during the broadcast. A colossal clash between them supposedly shaping up right now. As Fury soon faces one-time title challenger Francesco Pianeta (35-4-1, 21 KOs) in a co-feature attraction. Back here after a June victory over Sefer Seferi following 30 months away.
Last but certainly not least would be IBF Featherweight champ Josh Warrington (27-0, 6 KOs). The Leeds native currently on track for a collision with Belfast boxer and former titlist Carl “The Jackal” Frampton (25-1, 14 KOs). Warrington looking set for a spot behind the camera as well as The Jackal squares off against Australian Luke Jackson (16-0, 7 KOs). An interim WBO strap at stake in that one.
Warrington previously dethroned Lee Selby to capture the title in May. Wilder stopped Cuban contender Luis Ortiz this past March to retain his belt. No question they add a new level of interest. Follow FightZoneNews.com for any updates there.
